Reliable planning of isolated Building Integrated Photovoltaic systems

Abstract In this paper, two probabilistic reliability indices are presented to define the effect of clouds on different types Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) systems. Existing do not match main features photovoltaic (PV) sources, such as variability, uncertainty and dependency weather conditions. addition, they time indicators that describe percentage total failure per year without any indication about power or energy mismatch. By using available Geographic Information System solar-irradiation database, proposed consider a similar pattern expected daily solar irradiation model PV Two models studied for diverse building loads: an flexible loads constant-power critical loads. A comparative study is implemented six locations: Cairo, London, Berlin, Beijing, Madrid Riyadh. Moreover, three BIPV systems studied: fixed, double-axis-tracking concentrated The results show effects clouds, type locations system performance.
